| Victory Pushes Hornets Record to 75-54 | The Bethesda Hornets got a stellar performance from pitcher Mike Marquez, who handcuffed the Williamsport offense en route to a 2-1 win at Crosscutters Park. Marquez, now 6-3, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. The first-place Hornets now have a 6-game winning streak.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from center fielder Alex Armijo. For the game, Armijo was 3-4 with a triple and a double. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 17th double of the season gave Bethesda a 2-1 lead.
In comments to the Bethesda Observer, Armijo insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
