Ridell Powers Birdwings to 14-9 Win
The Hazleton Birdwings defeated the Campo NoBos, 14-9. Second Baseman Jeff Ridell deserved a large share of the credit. Ridell went 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for the Birdwings. Antonio Pena got the win, improving to 6-7. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 10 hits and 6 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 4. With the win over Campo, the Birdwings improved to 59-68.

Hazleton third baseman Fernando Pina helped his team get ahead early. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly.

In postgame comments to the Hazleton Bulletin, Pina said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
