Memphis Rallies for 3-2 Victory
|
Michael Melis pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Chippewa River Chiefs, despite Melis's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Memphis Blues at The Barn. Chris Maxson, who is tied for 5th in the THA in holds with 6, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 3-4. The Blues win now puts them at 82-46.
Nick Schrock was the walk-off hero for Memphis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blues pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place was jumping at the end," Schrock said.
