| River Chiefs Drop Cyclones with Late Score | Chippewa beat Coney Island at The Reservation, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to third baseman Justin Chiasson, who earned player of the game honors. The last-place Cyclones have lost 6 straight games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Chippewa catcher Juan Alvardo, facing Jim Reusch, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the River Chiefs the 6-5 win.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Alvardo said.
