| Losing Streak Continues for Sting with 6-2 Loss to Black Squirrels | The Tree City Black Squirrels overcame a good performance by Houston shortstop Tony Vasquez to knock off Houston, 6-2, at Woodland Park. Vasquez went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Larry Sceviour got the win, improving to 4-4. He held the Sting to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 6. The losses continue to add up for Houston, which has now fallen 8 times in a row.
Craig Norris's at-bat in the top of the fourth inning was a big one for Tree City. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Tree City trailing 2-1, the right fielder reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Houston manager Ramu Pavi.
