| Orphans Lose, 5-2, at Valhalla Summit | Dublin Vikings starter Nelson Martinez turned in a top-notch performance against the Cambridge Orphans at Valhalla Summit. The result was a win for the Vikings, 5-2. Dublin's record now stands at 68-58, placing them third in the Donnie Moore League Dusty Baker Division.
The Vikings got a big at-bat from center fielder Jim Merolli. For the game, Merolli went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 6th double of the season gave Dublin a 4-2 lead.
In postgame comments to the Dublin Times, Merolli said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
