NoBos Capture Close Win
The St. Petersburg Pelicans got a sterling performance from pitcher Billy Cardwell, but the Campo NoBos still prevailed, 6-5. Cardwell threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. Bill Coleman was credited with the save for Campo, his 1st of the season. Campo, at 52-70, holds down 4th place in the RCL HA Dusty Baker Division.

David Makatura went 1-1 with a walk for Campo. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Makatura, who is tied for 2nd in the RHA in doubles with 36, had a clutch at-bat. Facing St. Petersburg hurler Victor Martinez, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the NoBos a 6-5 lead.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Makatura, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
