Civics Absorb 5-0 Home Loss
|
At Civics Field, the Ottawa Civics and Charleston Panthers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Charleston Panthers used the hitting of first baseman Taylor Nunley to subdue the Ottawa Civics, 5-0. For the game, Nunley went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. Charleston reliever Robby Bueno was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Scott Kossow.
Jeff Dusenbery dealt the Civics a blow in the top of the fourth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Charleston leading 1-0, Dusenbery, who is tied for 10th in the TA with a .430 on-base percentage, hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Ottawa manager Eduardo Rosário.
The Panthers go to 53-50, putting them 5th in the TML A Dick Williams Division.
