Cyclones Walk It Off for 48th Win of Season | The rain could not keep the Coney Island Coliseum crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
The Cyclones grabbed a win, 4-3, at Coney Island Coliseum, overcoming a fine effort from Kingwood pitcher Luis Leyva. Leyva went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. The winner was Stephen Schuller in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Tom Nichols took the loss.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from designated hitter Juan Salas. For the game, Salas went 1-5. In the bottom of the 11th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 5th hit of the season gave Coney Island a 4-3 lead.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Salas said.
The Knights, at 57-62, have lost 4 straight games.
