San Antonio Beats Houston, 3-1
|
The San Antonio River Bandits picked up a win at Woodland Park, knocking off the Houston Sting, 3-1. Starting pitcher Bill Rosa played a key role in the triumph. The second-place River Bandits now have a record of 59-43.
The River Bandits got a big at-bat from second baseman Dan Carnes. For the game, Carnes went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 16th home run of the season gave San Antonio a 1-0 lead.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Carnes said.
