Gnats Pick Up 4-0 Win Over San Angelo
The Nichols Gnats got a marvelous performance from pitcher Troy Baxter. The right-hander kept the San Angelo offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-0 Nichols victory at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. Baxter got the win, improving to 3-9. He gave up 1 hit and walked 5 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The save went to Jon Kendall, his 3rd this season.

Victor Sanchez had a direct impact on the outcome. Sanchez contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Nichols up, 4-0.

"Troy was pretty good at keeping their guys off-balance," said Nichols manager Mike Nevil.

The Gnats, at 52-65, sit in 5th place in the TML HA Earl Weaver Division.
