| Crosscutters Turn Back Victoria, 4-3 | Williamsport and Victoria duked it out at The drakkar and the Crosscutters came out victorious.
The Williamsport Crosscutters did just enough to sneak past the Victoria Vikings, 4-3, at The drakkar. Williamsport pitcher Francisco Valenzuela earned player of the game honors. Valenzuela, the winner, moves to 14-8. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up no walks.
The Crosscutters got a lift from left fielder Michael Cantu who had a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning off Peter Densem. It was his 34th walk of the season and put Williamsport in front, 1-0.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Victoria manager Bernardo Moreno. "But we decided not to take it."
Williamsport is second in the Lyman Bostock League Earl Weaver Division with a record of 59-60.
