Though he had a terrific game, Damian Riddle could not prevent his team, the Oconomowoc Five O's, from absorbing a loss. Nichols won the game, 8-3. Riddle went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. Nichols reliever Vinny Ortiz snagged the win, upping his record to 2-2. Matt Farnsworth shouldered the loss. Nichols is now 45-69. Oconomowoc is 70-44.

The Five O's had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Gnats going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old first baseman Nate Kollath came to the plate. Kollath hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 knuckle curve from Oconomowoc hurler Matt Farnsworth. It was Kollath's 6th double of the year.

"To get where we want to as a team, we all have to do things out of our comfort zone," Kollath told the Nichols Times.
