| McGregor Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Nichols in Walk-Off Win | The Victoria Vikings got a superb performance from designated hitter Steve Jarrett, but the Nichols Gnats still won the game, 8-7. Jarrett was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. Reliever Nate Taylor picked up the win. His record improves to 2-4. Werner Jackman took the loss. The Gnats improve their record to 52-59 with the win over Victoria.
The Gnats were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when pinch hitter Bryan McGregor turned a 0-2 fastball from Werner Jackman into a bases-clearing double. The walk-off double sent a roar through the crowd and gave Nichols a thrilling 8-7 win.
"We'll take this win and move on," said McGregor.
