Sampson Lifts Sting to 9-6 Triumph
|
Joe Sampson had a 6-RBI game, during Houston's 9-6 triumph over the Niagara Falls Barrels. Sampson contributed 1 single and 1 home run to the cause. Jon Morales, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. David Hobson sewed up the save, his 4th.
The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Sampson delivered big-time for Houston, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Mitch Rahill. The game-changing hit put the Sting on top, 8-6.
"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Houston skipper Barnabé Bacm.
The third-place Barrels now sit at 56-43.
