The Victoria Vikings easily defeated the San Angelo Mustangs, 19-4, at The drakkar, with second baseman Jason Allensworth a main contributor to the win. He went 3-5 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for Victoria. The third-place Vikings have won 5 in a row.

Victoria catcher Joe McWilliams contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a cutter to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 26th hit of the season and put the Vikings ahead, 3-2.

"We knocked the fire out of the ball," said Victoria manager Jim Edwards. "The guys swung the bats pretty good, and that's fun to see."
