| Victory Over Black Squirrels Takes St. Petersburg to 76-37 | The St. Petersburg Pelicans faced a tough opponent in Tree City pitcher Larry Sceviour, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Billy Mathews Field by a final score of 5-2. Sceviour went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. This win makes it 6 in a row for St. Petersburg.
St. Petersburg took a 4-2 lead on Kennie Moody's 51st hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Moody hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Tree City pitcher Bob Galloway shaking his head.
