Five O's Win at Home, 6-2
|
Oconomowoc pitcher Mike Erpenbach did his part in helping his team defeat the Chippewa River Chiefs, 6-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Jimmy Kennedy was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 6 save opportunities. The first-place Five O's, at 65-29, now lead their division by 5 games.
Keith Trytek had a big run-scoring triple for the Five O's in the bottom of the third inning. With Oconomowoc leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Diego Pais, who is tied for 8th in the TA in complete games with 1, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Five O's ahead, 3-1.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Oconomowoc manager Evan Thorne.
