NoBos Pick Up 3-1 Win Against Marshall
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Campo NoBos and the Marshall Lawmen, 21-year old right-handed pitcher Rafael Banda was the difference-maker. The Campo right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Banda, the winner, moves to 4-7. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. The NoBos saw their win-loss record go to 33-59. At the same time, the Lawmen fell to 47-44.
The Lawmen had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the NoBos going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old right fielder David Shannon came to the plate. Shannon hit a run-scoring double on a 1-2 knuckleball from Marshall hurler Carlos Acevez. It was Shannon's 4th double of the year.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Shannon said.
