Magicians Chop Down Lake Monsters, 6-3
|
The timely hitting of Bill Bollard helped the Baltimore Magicians down the Okanagan Lake Monsters, 6-3. Bollard went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Magicians. The winning pitcher was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Jonathan Crabb. He tossed 105 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. Earning his 7th save for Baltimore was Wu-shiun Kim.
Bollard had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-0 fastball from Dante Vidrio, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Magicians a 5-3 lead. It was the 25th home run of the year for Bollard.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Bollard, "one at-bat at a time."
With the win, the Magicians improved to 54-38.
