Princes Fall, 7-0, to Carnes, River Bandits
|
At Philip Banks Field, the Bel Air Princes and San Antonio River Bandits were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 19-year old second baseman Dan Carnes, the San Antonio River Bandits defeated the Bel Air Princes, 7-0. After today's action, San Antonio sits at 52-39; Bel Air slips to 40-51.
San Antonio used a clutch at-bat from Alphonse Gerratana to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the River Bandits ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Said losing manager Greg England: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
