The Carmel Apples got a hard-earned win over the Ocala Knights, 11-7, in 16 innings. Dominique Comte provided some offensive muscle for Carmel. He was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The first-place Knights have dropped 4 straight games.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 16th, until Comte delivered big-time for Carmel, stroking a dramatic grand slam home run off Manny Acevedo. The game-changing hit put the Apples on top, 11-7.

"They tested our mettle," said Comte. "But that's good. It toughens us up."
