Andy Fredricks never let Dublin get something going. The Houston right-hander commanded his slider in pitching the Sting to a 1-0 win. The Sting raised their record to 45-59.

One of the biggest contributors for Houston was first baseman Steve Gallipeau. In the top of the seventh, with the bases empty, Gallipeau got a 1-2 slider and hit a solo home run. That put the Sting on top, 1-0.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Gallipeau told the Houston Citizen.
