Scorpions Stymie San Angelo, Take 6-1 Win
|
It was a fun time at Arnold Field, where the San Angelo Mustangs and Sonoma Scorpions tangled.
Sonoma Scorpions starter Brian Peek kept the San Angelo Mustangs hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-1 win. Sonoma reliever Satoshi Kawaguchi picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ray Cummings absorbed the loss.
One of the biggest contributors for Sonoma was designated hitter Julian Solis. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, Solis got a 2-0 fastball and hit a run-scoring single. That put the Scorpions on top, 2-1.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Solis. "Just do my job."
The Scorpions now have a record of 56-46 with the win over San Angelo.
