Dancin' Outlaws Clip Magicians, 3-2
|
Starting pitcher John Heyes gave the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws a rock-solid effort. The Spencer, Iowa native helped his team defeat the Baltimore Magicians, 3-2, at Baltimore Stadium. Picking up the save was Donzel Albertrani. He's now 24 for 25 in save chances. The Dancin' Outlaws, now 54-50, have won 4 in a row.
West Virginia used a well-timed hit by Victor Monreal to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Dancin' Outlaws ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Monreal. "Obviously."
