Eugene designated hitter Kenny Forbush was sensational. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Nichols beat the Emeralds, 5-3. At 44-44, Nichols is in 4th place in the TML A Earl Weaver Division.

Nate Barnett had a big run-scoring double for the Gnats in the top of the fourth inning. With Nichols leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Tony Guerrero and swatted a double to left. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Gnats ahead, 2-0.

Nichols manager Mike Nevil commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
