Due in large part to left fielder Luis Fajardo, the Carmel Apples sunk the Hazleton Birdwings, 7-6. Fajardo went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Danny Pedraza, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. Carmel is now 49-52, Hazleton 47-56.

Had Mario Contreras not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Contreras hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Apples.
