Kingwood pitcher Heriberto Leon had a large part in his team beating the San Angelo Mustangs, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Leon yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 10. His record improves to 9-4. Mike Casper earned the save for Kingwood.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Salvador Guzman? The 24-year old catcher Guzman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Kingwood up, 5-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
