Lake Monsters Win, 9-2, at Campo

Boosted by the 3-hit performance of Wilbert Howse, who is tied for 9th in the TA in triples with 4, the Okanagan Lake Monsters defeated the Campo NoBos, 9-2. Lonnie Newcomb went 7 innings for Okanagan to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs. He scattered 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 6. His record improves to 5-4. Okanagan is now 42-44, Campo 29-58.
With Okanagan leading 2-1 in the top of the seventh, Howse hit a 2-run single off Campo hurler George Bow. It was the 69th hit of the season for Howse and put his team ahead, 4-1.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Campo manager Adrián Cortés.
