The Charleston Panthers had to reckon with Ocala Knights hurler Jose Vargas. Vargas overwhelmed the opposition in the 8-1 Knights triumph. Ocala bumps their record to 51-48 with the win.

Early in the game, designated hitter Dustin Roberts had a 3-run home run for Ocala. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Knights on top, 3-0.

"The effort wasn't good enough," said losing manager Harry Howell.
