The St. Paul Saints beat the Nichols Gnats, 11-9, at The Pond. St. Paul designated hitter Mike Turnquist led the way. He went 1-4 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. St. Paul now sports a record of 38-62.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Justin Stadtlander came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Nichols pitcher Eddie Enriquez, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting St. Paul on top, 11-9.

"Baseball is a wild game -- a crazy game, sometimes," said Stadtlander.
