Bechtold Goes Wild, But Magicians Win
St. Petersburg first baseman Ryan Bechtold had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-6, to Baltimore at Baltimore Stadium. Bechtold was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win was credited to 22-year old left-handed pitcher Juan Amador in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jose Vergara took the loss. St. Petersburg has now lost 4 consecutive games.

Baltimore took the lead, 8-6, on Steve Larson's 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off St. Petersburg pitcher Jacob Spitler in the bottom of the eighth.
