Dominant Performance by Minns in Ottawa Win
|
Jonathan Minns was outstanding against San Angelo. The left-hander, who is tied for 4th in the THA with a 11.3 K/9 rate, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Civics 6-4 win. Greg Pond earned the save, his 24th, for the Civics. With the win, Ottawa goes to 73-26, while the Mustangs fall to 23-75.
Though he did not get the decision, Minns did all he could to keep his team close, twirling a shutout through 6 innings, until Ottawa eventually rallied past the Mustangs.
"Jonathan is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Ottawa manager Eduardo Rosário.
