Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Baiko Kawano, the San Antonio River Bandits defeated the Sonoma Scorpions, 7-4. Kawano went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the River Bandits. Jonathan Thillet earned the win to go to 3-2. He allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. San Antonio is now 55-42, Sonoma 52-44.
Fred Pointer in the top of the fourth had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the River Bandits leading 2-0, the San Antonio third baseman hit a grand slam.
