Gremlins Slap 5-3 Loss on El Paso
The Houghton Gremlins had to overcome a fine effort from El Paso pitcher Bret Naughton to win, 5-3, at The Corral. Naughton went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The 4th-place Gremlins bumped their record to 25-26.

Houghton used the timely hitting of Mark Launay to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Gremlins on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said El Paso manager Lorenzo Castillo.
