The Kingwood Knights defeated the Chippewa River Chiefs, 4-2, in TMLA action at The Reservation, with Kingwood pitcher Jesus Diaz named player of the game. Diaz, the winner, moves to 4-7. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 11 and giving up 3 walks. The Knights now have a record of 42-47.
Kingwood grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Scott McKay delivered a 3-run home run, to make it 4-1 in favor of the Knights.
"I felt good up there," said McKay. "I saw the ball well."
