5-2 Loss Extends San Francisco Losing Streak
|
Jacksonville Pilots starter German Gil was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the San Francisco Earthquakes, 5-2. Gil, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. The loss drops the Earthquakes to 0-6.
The Pilots got a big at-bat from first baseman Erik Butler. For the game, Butler was 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Jacksonville a 3-1 lead.
"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Butler.
