West Island turned a good effort from starter Ken Aubin into a win over the San Francisco Earthquakes at Golden Gate Park. The final score was 7-2. Aubin, now 4-4, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 5, and allowing 2 runs. Marco Huerta wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
The Jazz got a big at-bat from left fielder Dave Ojeda. For the game, Ojeda went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave West Island a 2-0 lead.
Ojeda offered a curt "no comment" when asked to discuss the win after the game.
With the victory, the Jazz upped their record to 33-25.
