The St. Paul Saints overcame a pretty good performance by Nichols right fielder Rickey Jansen, beating the Gnats, 13-6, at Saints Ballpark. Jansen was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Zbynek Petruzalek earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 3-4. The Saints raised their record to 27-44.

Orlando Aguayo had a big bases-clearing double for the Saints in the bottom of the first inning. With St. Paul leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Enrique Cuellar and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Saints ahead, 6-2.

In postgame remarks, Aguayo said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
