Princes Done In By River Chiefs, 5-2
|
The 4-hit performance of Mike Zaragoza, who is rated as the 7th best prospect by BNN, helped the Chippewa River Chiefs beat the Bel Air Princes, 5-2. Hector Delgado came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. His record now stands at 4-0. Chippewa, now 54-25, holds down first place in the TML HA Dick Williams Division.
The River Chiefs got a big hit from pinch hitter Efrain Barrios. In the bottom of the sixth, Barrios smacked a 3-run home run off Bel Air pitcher Carlos Facio. It was his 2nd home run of the season. Suddenly, the River Chiefs were ahead, 3-2.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Chippewa manager Pang Yip.
