Rock 'Em! Sock 'Em! Jones Blasts 3 Homers in Montreal Win
A good performance from first baseman Jared Jones helped the Montreal Mounties defeat the Vancouver Pioneers, 9-6. Jones hit 3 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 6 for the Mounties. Leonardo Cortez, the winner, is now 6-2. He struck out 4 and walked 1 over 6.2 innings, while allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. Bill Wolfe earned the save, his 19th, for the Mounties.

Montreal grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Jones hit a 3-run home run off Jeff Prudhomme. His 8th home run of the season put the Mounties out in front, 7-4.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Jones told the Montreal Chronicle.

The first-place Mounties improved to 39-18.
