Magicians Drop 4-0 Decision
|
Dan Schmus never let the Magicians get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the River Chiefs to a win, 4-0. Schmus picked up the win for Chippewa, going 6.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 5-2. Ismael Zavala picked up his 1st save of the season.
The River Chiefs got a big at-bat from second baseman Isaiah Williams. For the game, Williams went 2 for 4 with a triple and a double. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 5th triple of the season gave Chippewa a 1-0 lead.
"What we get, we earn," Williams told the Chippewa Herald.
With the win over Baltimore, the River Chiefs improved to 35-31.
