Ottawa Dismisses Campo, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring game between the Ottawa Civics and the Campo NoBos, pitcher Wynn Backstrom was the difference-maker. The Ottawa right-hander was tough as nails in the 3-1 Civics win. Greg Pond zipped up his 20th save. Ottawa, now 56-22, holds down first place in the TML HA Earl Weaver Division.
Sergio Salinas, who is tied for 4th in the THA in triples with 4, had a direct impact on the outcome. Salinas contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Ottawa up, 1-0.
"Every play was important. Every out was important," said Civics manager Eduardo Rosário.
