The Carmel Apples topped the Okanagan Lake Monsters, 8-7, with catcher Arturo Naar playing a big role. Naar was 2-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Apples in the win. The Apples bumped their record to 41-35 with this latest triumph.

Carmel took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 7-7, when Dan Dunn hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Apples in front, 8-7.

"We found a way to get it done," Naar said.
