It was not a good day at the plate for the St. Petersburg Pelicans. They came up empty when it mattered against Victoria Vikings left-hander Angel Sanchez, who scattered 2 hits across 9 innings and held the Pelicans scoreless.
"We had 2 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," St. Petersburg manager Gilbert Drader said later.
Sanchez chalked up 16 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 9-0 Vikings win.
