Princes Win, 3-1, Extend Hot Streak
|
Bel Air Princes starter Edgar Pedro worked his magic, to help his team defeat the Okanagan Lake Monsters, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Pedro, now 3-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. Josh Melton recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 22 for 23.
Willie Castillo had a big run-scoring double for the Princes in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Bel Air leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Elijah Murphy and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 21st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Princes ahead, 3-1.
Bel Air manager Greg England commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
The Princes have now won 7 straight.
