Panthers Score Late, Top Jedi Knights, 6-3
|
The Charleston Panthers topped the New Orleans Jedi Knights, 6-3, in TMLA action at The Republic. The player of the game was Charleston pitcher Alex Ortiz. Today's win puts Charleston at 27-48, while New Orleans falls to 35-40.
Charleston used the timely hitting of Luis Galicia to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Panthers on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Galicia told the Charleston Citizen.
