Stogies Win with Late Heroics
Walnut Creek first baseman Kevin McArdle was sensational. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Havana beat the Warriors, 6-5, in 11 innings. The third-place Stogies bumped their record to 23-25.

The decisive blow was delivered by Allen Larson in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 20-year old left-handed pitcher Efrain Gutierrez to win the game for Havana. The home crowd went nuts.

"There's no quit in this team," said Stogies manager Taylor Hillary.
