Civics Tear Continues with 8-4 Triumph
The Ottawa Civics picked up a win at Civics Field, taking down the Memphis Blues, 8-4. Starting pitcher Jon Merino was a big reason why. Ottawa, having won 10 in a row, is now 40-22.

Chris Taylor had a big 2-run double for the Civics in the bottom of the third inning. With Ottawa trailing 4-3 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Jim Kein, who is tied for 7th in the TA in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Civics ahead, 5-4.

"Every time I step on the mound, I want to go out there and compete and bring my best game," said Merino.
