Bush Wackers Win at Bel Air, 8-7
|
Bel Air got a terrific performance from pitcher Dylan Jerve, but it wasn't enough to beat the Brisbane Bush Wackers. Brisbane won the Philip Banks Field contest, 8-7. Jerve was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Brisbane reliever Alexis Nunez was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Bill Campos. The Bush Wackers sit in 4th place in the RCLA Dusty Baker Division with a record of 29-37.
One significant at-bat for Brisbane came with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh. Bush Wackers second baseman Luis Montemayor hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Brisbane go on to win.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Montemayor said.
