Jesus Lopez, who leads the TA with a 1.78 ERA, had a strong outing for the Carmel Apples against the Houston Sting at Woodland Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. The winner was Lopez. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Tim Wulff. Bobby Jones notched his 17th save of the season.

Ian Dalton had a direct impact on the outcome. Dalton contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Carmel up, 4-2.
