No one was more impactful than Kyle Pennington in an extra-inning, 12-8 Chippewa win over St. Petersburg. Pennington, who leads the THA in doubles with 24, went 3-5 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Chippewa reliever Brad Dillinger was credited with the win. His record goes to 2-1. Jean-Pierre Barreau took the loss for St. Petersburg. Now 12-56, St. Petersburg has dropped 10 straight.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 13th, until Pennington delivered big-time for Chippewa, stroking a dramatic run-scoring double off Jean-Pierre Barreau. The game-changing hit put the River Chiefs on top, 9-8.

"It took some doing, but we got what we came for," said River Chiefs manager Pang Yip.
